WILD WEATHER

We had a BIG storm go through. I left work right before 3:30 PM, it looked so bad, I was just hoping to get to the parking garage. As soon as I got to my car, it poured! I sat there, got on FB real quick & then proceded to leave. As I was going round & round from level 5, the wind was furious & coming in sideways & reaching the center of the garage. Well, I got to the bottom, pulled out & it was hailing! I almost went back in the garage. The hail was marble size & the streets looked like a river. I went on & after a few minutes, the sun was peeking out. But I do not think the severe weather is finished.

It is a gorgeus beautiful day here in Orlando, sunny, breezy and 56 degrees.

OK, 2 LDS missionaries, Elder Barry and Elder Doxy have been visiting our home and speaking with Gill. Gill has even attended their church a few times. Curious how we went to Vegas to see Donny and Marie, the world's most famous Mormons and then shortly after, these guys show up. FATE. Well who knows. However today we went to a tour that they invited us to for the Orlando Temple grounds. beautiful Temple and grounds.

We went last night to Florida Mall to see and hear Thomas Kincaid speak, he only spoke a few minutes. Usually at these events, he speaks a little longer. They gave everyone a free lithograph commemorating Thom's 25 years.

CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK NATIONAL CELEBRATION 2009

I was very honored to have been invited to the Champions Medals Ceremony this year. The CHAMPIONS are the MIRACLE children. All US states and some countries (UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia) were represented.

Mary Lou Retton was the keynote and very dynamic speaker. She is a perfect 10 in every way. Do not let other people set limits on you.

GEMINI SPRINGS PARK

We went on an errand to Sanford today and while there, Gill asked the person he was seeing if there was a park nearby. We went to Gemini Springs Park in Debary - beautiful!! Nice day.

MIDNIGHT AGAIN

OH MY, our sweet little cat has another abscess!!! We noticed her leg(same place as before) was swollen a few days ago and then today, Gill noticed it was draining. He just cried and cried because our little girl was sick again. We do not know what happened. Today we took her to our regular vet. And we are glad that we did, we really do like him. We got there, went in the exam room and Midnight was walking around the room exploring and then it started, stuff just came pouring out and it smelled foul. Again, through all this, she was active, eating and she didn't seem sick or did not even look like she felt bad. She did have a fever though. He took her back and just with a little anesthesia gas, cut her leg open, flushed out the abscess, got all the pus out. We are keeping her in the bathroom for a few days because he said it will continue to ooze some. We have to give her antibiotics for 10 days. She should be just fine. So today, Gill and I decided that she will be an indoor cat and we will try our best to keep her inside. It will be hard because she loves to be outside. But that is the problem, she likes to roam out of the yard and obviously is getting into something, no idea what.

NATIONAL CERTIFIED NURSES DAY

Today is National Certified Nurses Day. We had a very nice breakfast & program at Winnie Palmer Hospital. It was the inaugural celebration. I obtained my Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing certification in 1986 & have maintained it. You maintain it by continuing education units.

I finished the book I was reading by Donny Osmond! Fascinating!!!

READING A BOOK

OK most people who know me, know that I do not read books much. Everyone else in my family are readers but while I used to read, grew out of it, not sure why. I enjoy collecting books, mostly inspirational books. However there is a book that came out a few years ago that I just recently purchased and in one week, I am almost finished reading it. Of course when I tell you what it is, it will be of no surprise to you.

Of course, I am going to say this; however it has been fascinating reading.

"Life Is Just What You Make It" by DONNY OSMOND. 378 pages by Hyperion. I bought it off Amazon.com.

Next up will be the "Dewey" book I posted about. I also bought the Julie Andrews book and "The Last Lecture".

HELLO

Friday night was monthly BUNCO night, had fun with all the girls.

Saturday was Tim's, Gill's sister Renee's hubby, 50th birthday party in Bradenton. That was fun, good food & seeing family members that we had not seen for awhile and of course Euchre playing!! Uncle Daryll & I won a game in 4 hands! Euchre, 4 point alone, 4 point alone.

NEW CAFE

Gill I are always looking for new little breakfast/lunch places to try. Today, we found one that we will definitely go back to & it is very close to us.

It is Peach Valley Café, there are 4 in Florida. The one near us is at Dr Phillips & Conroy Windemere RD. It is breakfast/lunch, however this location is open for dinner as well. This location has been opened since November.

Gill had biscuits & gravy. He is very picky about the biscuits & gravy, not many pass his taste test & he loved these. I had french toast. Very good as well.

Everyone was very nice there & service was good. We will definitely go back.

As I write this, I am sitting on our back patio, beautiful sunny day, brisk breeze, 50's, birds singing.
