DONNY NOW STATED THAT HE WOULD LOVE TO DO DWTS

OK, now Donny Osmond has said that he would absolutely do DWTS if an offer was extended. I for one would love to see him on it, he has a dynamic personality and is a great dancer. Plus he now has his own private plane so could easily commute from Provo to LA to Las Vegas.

DONNY OSMOND TO DO DWTS

Well, the buzz is in full force. On Bonnie Hunt this morning, Donny said that he was doing DWTS however he later said that nothing was official yet. The google alerts are coming in fast and furious about this and it is being reported all over the US on TV news and on websites.

And of course, this has sent the donny.comers into overdrive posting like crazy.

I personally love DWTS and would absolutely love to see Donny on it, he has a great personality and is certainly a great dancer. Not only does his Vegas show keep him on his toes but he has said that he is also taking dancing lessons. And he certainly knows the drill as he was there for Marie every step of the way when she did DWTS.

So we will have to wait and see for an official announcement from ABC. He probably can not do it for the March season but possible for the fall season. By then they could rearrange the Vegas schedule to accommodate DWTS.

MIDNIGHT UPDATE

Midnight got her drain out today, we take her back next Monday to get sutures out. She is doing well, adjusting to life with the collar. Our biggest challenge will be keeping her inside for 2 weeks as she loves to be outside.

MIDNIGHT UPDATE

Midnight was at the vet 0800 - 1800 yesterday. The absess was larger than the vet thought but she got it all. Midnight was disoriented last night, effects of anesthesia & the e-collar. She finally settled & slept.

This morning, we gave her a pain med, antibiotic, and the ointment for her skin. This morning she ate & drank water, she wants out however we have to keep her in for 2 weeks.

On another note, we kept all cats in the house from Tuesday afternoon until Friday midday because of the cold weather. Missy had a good hiding spot because we did not know where she was in the house during the day. They loved being back outside, Dreamsicle had his nose up in the air & was sniffing the cool fresh air. All of them were rolling around in the grass. And you know what, they all wanted back in last night.

MIDNIGHT

OK, some of you know that we have been concerned about Midnight for about a week.

We took her to the vet today. She has lost some of her fur, has some irritated skin & has a sore on her arm. The one thing good is that her appetite and manner have remained good. Well, all her labs were good except white count elevated, a sign of infection. Her leukemia and aids are negative. They were concerned that she was anemic, pale gums, however her blood count is normal, low end but normal. She does have a heart murmur but no signs of distress for that. The sore on her leg is probably from a bite and she has an absess on her arm, quite swollen and we did not realize it. So she is having surgery tomorrow to drain it. She will be on antibiotics after that as well as a calm cream for her skin. She will also have to wear an e-collar for about 2 weeks. I am so relieved that it was not worst. Even though we have only had Midnight since Dec 07, we love her, she is our child.

PONCE INLET LIGHTHOUSE

Gill and I went to a Florida Lighthouse Association meeting yesterday. We meet 3 - 4 times a year. We joined several years ago, mainly as a way to see some of the lighthouses not usually opened to the public. We enjoy going to the meetings, meeting old friends and meeting new friends. They always have a guest speaker and yesterday, the curator at Ponce spoke about the restoration of the Fresnel lens which they have completed several restorations. Yesterday, we met in Daytona Beach for an afternoon meeting and then dinner before going to the lighthouse. Gill and I hurried down there so that we could capture a few pictures before it got too dark.

The top of the Lighthouse

Beautiful strong lady.

Gill climbed the 235 steps up, Ponce is the tallest lighthouse in Florida, second tallest in the US behind Hatteras. I have climbed Ponce before but I did not last night.

The sunset view from the top

Gill at the top with the third order Fresnel lens, this was special for the FLA members, normally it costs $50 to get to the lens room and it was free for us.

Ponce has a wonderful museum and grounds available to tour through. It has 3 keeper buildings, pump room, oil storage and they bulit a lens building to house the lenses they have restored. In this picture from left to right are the following lenes: Ponce Inlet First Order Fixed Fresnel Lens; Fourth Order Bivalve Fresnel Lens; Replica 6th order Fresnel Lens; Cape Canaveral Lighthouse First Order Rotating Fresnel Lens; Chance Brothers Lens.
Thank you to all the staff at Ponce for making this all available to us. I did not say but the Lighthouse and grounds was only open for the members of FLA at the meeting.
Last fall, our meeting was up in the panhandle, we got to climb the St. George Lighthouse which was just rebuilt and our speaker told us all about that enormous feat. We also visited Crooked River and Cape San Blas lighthouses.

IT'S NIPPY OUTSIDE

OK, most who know me know that I rarely use the four letter word C-O-L-D , however it was 43 degrees this morning. After being in a house all night with the heat on and also a space heater, I welcomed the cool weather. I got to work & I started to put my jacket on & thought I am not cold, luckily my walk from the parking garage to the hospital is a short one. Also and I forgot to say I had my window opened while Gill was in the family room with all that heat. All cats spent the night in the house.

CAT SLEEPING PLACES

Missy on the couch at Gill's feet

Midnight in outdoor fire place

Belle in basket

Dreamsicle on HP printer/scanner

Dreamsicle on desk and laptop

It always amazes me the places my cats find to sleep. They will sleep someone for some time and then find a new place. They love the window sills to look at the windows.

2009 BIGGEST BRIGHTEST FULL MOON

OK I was sitting out on our back patio when the moon started rising and I said WOW, Gill came home shortly thereafter and said yes tonight is the biggest brightest full moon of 2009 so I ran in to get the camera, it had gotten a little dark because I had to wait for the moon to get up where I could take a picture of it. It does look really close. From an article on AOL, the moon tonight will appear 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter. This month's full moon is known as Wolf Moon.

BUNCO

OK my friend Jelda asked what is BUNCO. It is a fun dice game. We have 12 people, so 3 tables of 4. We roll 3 dice, you & your partner count the six's you roll. Table 1 plays until they reach 20 & then that round is done. You follow instructions on the table as to what you do next, stay at table, go to next table, keep partners, change partners. A BUNCO is when you roll 3 of a kind. You keep track of the number of BUNCOs you roll, the number of games you win, high game score. And then sometime we have a special dice such as a red one, so then you keep track of red 6's. We all donate $5 and then at the end of the night prizes are awarded. We all have an index card & punch holes to keep track of things & then empty the punches onto the floor. A few times a year, we do couples BUNCO & then there are 24 of us.

When I went to Vegas, I went to the Gambler General Store & bought different colored dice as well as some with flamingos & some with gators

OK as a side note, I have learned how to do a brand new post to my BLOG from my phone, in fact this post is coming from my phone however what is not working for me is when I want to comment either in my own BLOG like to answer a question such as what is BUNCO or to post to a friends BLOG. Can anyone help?

OK thanks for being patient, I know this was an incredibly long post.

GO GATORS

OK I am a Hoosier gal but since I have lived in Florida for 21 years, I better acknowledge this BIG win especially since I have a lot of friends who are GATOR fans.

BEAUTIFUL DAY

It was an absolutely beautiful day today here in Orlando - 72 degrees & sunny. Dreamsicle enjoyed it curled up all day in a chair on our back patio. I am off to play BUNCO tonight, It is so much fun, a group of 12 of us, we meet at 7 PM for appetizers, dinner at 8, BUNCO at 9 and then dessert at 10. #

NICE STATE PARK

We started out on New Year's Day to go to a state park but missed the exit and ended up at another one instead - O'Leno - just outside of Gainesville in High Springs. Very nice park, nice facilities, cabins to rent. We hiked a trail along the Sante Fe River and what is interesting is that in this park, the river submerges and stays submerged for 3 miles and reappears. We saw both where it submerges and then where it rises. If you did not know, you could never tell. However we enjoyed the park, nice and quiet.

Gill is so good at holding the camera out to take our picture when there is no one else around, it was so peaceful and quiet there.

This is where the river submerges and then it travels underground for 3 miles. We met a couple there and they told us that this part usually looks a toilet flushing however the river is really low right now so you can not even tell that it is submerging.

This is where the river comes back up to to the ground, can't tell that. It is called RIVER RISE.

I just wanted to say HAPPY NEW Year, OK better late than never. I will post later about a short trip Gill and I took today to a State Park that was very nice.
