RANDOM THOUGHTS

What a beautiful site earlier in the week, as I drove east into the city at 0600, the little sliver of a moon & the bright north star.

Even though we live west & the wildfires are east, at times I smell the smoke & it is bothering my nose & eyes.

Yesterday, Gill & I found a new café - Cristo's in College Park. Good food & a lot of variety on the menu. Breakfast (my fav meal) all day!

People who say it can't be done should not interrupt those of us who are doing it. -Anonymous

TWITTER

OK - the world is going crazy. I have a twitter account and am following a few folks. At this point mostly some famous folks. Actually I just sent out my first tweek however it does not really matter, I only have one person following me and was surprised that she found me on twitter - I am not sure anyone knows I opened an account. HI SARAH!!! Well anyway, I love FB and am not sure I want to post to two places, we will see. I never thought I would do FB and I love it. (THANKS BRAD!!) I enjoy following the few that I do.

OK - get on with the post will ya??? I came home from work last night, very tired after 3 long 12 hour shifts in the NICU. Anyway, not much on TV so I was flipping through the channels, I hate it when hubby does that. Well anyway I settled on flipping back and forth between 2 - Oprah and Larry King because both were talking about same thing - you got it - TWITTER.

Oprah just started twittering yesterday and she is so funny!!!

And OK so I am a little behind the times - apparently Ashton Kutcher and CNN had a battle going to see who could reach 1 MILLION followers first. This started Monday with both in the 800,000 range and Ashton about 50,000 behind, I think I have the numbers right. Well, Ashton won by early morning Friday. He was on both Oprah via SKYPE and Larry King Friday.

However he spoke that while celebrities are on twitter to stay in touch with fans, some like himself are also using it for charity causes. His is mosquito beds to prevent malaria. Both shows were extremely entertaining and educational.

OH and the person that I follow that is my favorite - OK - this should be no surprise to those who know me - AND he has just started twittering much to the HAPPINESS of his fans. DONNY OSMOND - I told you it would be no surprise!

GOOD JOB TWEETY BIRD!!!

LDS GENERAL CONFERENCE

This was held this weekend, yesterday, we went to the local church and watched the morning session. Today, Gill hooked our laptop up to our big TV and we watched both sessions. Good messages in all sessions.

What is nice, you can watch it at a local church, watch in on the internet or on the BYU TV station (satelite TV) or in person at the conference center in Salt Lake City.

BUNCO

It was my turn to host BUNCO last night. I was a bit nervous as I don't cook & had to fix dinner for 12 folks. I think it went well & especially thank you to Pati, the group organizer who gladly stepped in to cook the pork loins & noodles.

The menu for - appetizers - fresh fruit & dip, chips & velvelta cheese dip, chipped beef cheeseball & crackers - main dish - pork loin, noodles, garden salad, french bread - dessert - chocolate brownie parfait.

I enjoy BUNCO & getting together with everyone.

10 minutes before BUNCO was to start, my Mother called me from Hawaii where she is visiting now to tell me how beautiful it is there. Maybe someday we will make it there.
